Busy day in a studio and with a photoshoot

Enfantillages2_visuel1_low_300

Today Alizée had a quite busy day again. The first part of the day she spent in a studio recording a song for upcoming album “Enfantillages 2, which is a project of a Guillaume Aldebert, who invited Alizée to sing a song for the record. The album is expected to be released in October 2013.

After the studio session, Alizée went to a photo session with Pose magazine. During the photo session she wore several different outfits, of which she posted couple samples on Instagram. Unfortunately the magazine is digital only, so we won’t be able to get physical copy of it. But at least the next issue should have nice interview on it with very beautiful photos.

Reportage from Grenoble’s autograph session

on by
RMJ

On Wednesday, Alizée held another autographs dedication session, this time in city called Grenoble, in south-east of France, at the foot of the Alps. Like in the case of Metz, we now have a short reportage how it went in Grenoble. Thanks to Michael from Switzerland, who again, went to see Alizée and wrote this great story.

My second rendez-vous with Alizée in Grenoble, France.

Nine days have passed since the autograph session at FNAC in Metz, where I [Michael] met Alizée personally the first time and her autographed picture on my desk brought back the memories of this wonderful day each time I looked at it. Somewhere in the late afternoon I decided to check my Facebook account and an announcement of Radio Malherbe Grenoble caught my eye:

“Autograph session with Alizée on 24th April in Grenoble”

I couldn’t believe it. Another autograph session in a city close to Switzerland was announced which provides me the opportunity to meet Alizée again after just two weeks!

Five days later I started my car trip to Grenoble at the morning of a lovely pre-summer day.

grenoble1

The journey went from Zurich through Bern, along Lake Geneva to the French border and a further 140 kilometers to Grenoble. Finally I arrived around 14:00 at the accommodations of “Le Dauphiné Libéré” where the autograph session should take place. As expected a group of Alizée fans already waited patiently in front of the entrance. However I realized soon that this would be going to be a very small event as not more than approximately forty people were present.

So I enjoyed the sun while waiting for Alizée’s arrival…

grenoble2

As two weeks ago in Metz, she arrived with a delay of half an hour around 15:00, flanked by security guards.

What followed now was a significant difference to the session in Metz. We all had to wait outside and weren’t allowed to wait in the accommodation of “Le Dauphiné”. Admittedly this was a very small room and as it was a lovely sunny day, waiting outside was rather comfortable.

However this procedure prevented me from taking lots of photos of her during the waiting period as I did in Metz. As a result I was going to return to Switzerland with just five or six pictures instead of more than two hundred when I was leaving Metz two weeks before.

Well, approximately twenty minutes after Alizée’s arrival I was allowed to enter the newspaper’s accommodation. As I noticed several people standing in a semi-circle, I presumed they were also waiting for their turn, so I queued up – civilized as I am. However they glanced at me slightly irritated and the present security guard told me “Allez-y!” (go ahead!).

Oooops! At this moment I realized that the other people present were employees of the newspaper just watching the session and it really was my turn now. As before in Metz, I was totally surprised that it was up to me again.

So, I approached Alizée looking forward to further magic minutes and said something like “Salut Alizée, comment vas-tu?” (hi Alizée, how are you?). Instead of standing in front of her desk and looking down to her, I decided to kneel down in order to be closer to her and to be in a better position to look into her beautiful eyes.

Suddenly I remembered that I have promised Ronny to greet her on behalf of him, so I said to her: “avant que j’oublie: bonjour de la part de Ronny de Barcelone”. (before I forget: greetings from Ronny from Barcelona)”. She replied just with “Ronny!” and smiled lovely.

Now it was time for the mandatory autograph, and much more important, the souvenir photo.

I wasn’t really satisfied with the one taken in Metz by the radio presenter, so I hoped for a much better photo this time.

grenoble3

As Alizée did already sign her new album “5” for me in Metz, I brought the Une enfant du siècle box with me this time. So I put the box on the table and she asked me to whom the box should be dedicated to.
I told her “pour Michael” and as did in Metz I again pronounced her my first name. While she was signing the box I told her that she already signed the new album for me in Metz and asked if she remembers me. She didn’t say “Oui” but she nodded with a touch of a smile, so I assume she really remembered me, maybe due to my “complicated” first name?

After having signed my box she put it in front of her on the table and approached me for the souvenir photo. This time she was faster than me and I must admit this was a great feeling that she approached me firstly and not me to her!

After the Metz experience with the souvenir photo of let’s say average quality, I previously instructed the security guard how the zoom of the camera works, and he did a really good job.

Meeting her the second time means that I would have to leave her the second time as well, even though I would have preferred to stay all the day with her. So I did say good-bye with “Au revoir et bonne chance” wishing her fortune for whatever she will need it in life.

Many thanks to Alizée for these minutes of pure magic!

English translation of “Si tu es un homme”

on by
RMJ

To finish our series of English translation of Alizée‘s new album, here’s a translation for song “Si tu es un homme” (“if you are a man”). It tells about the expectations of a man, who he is allowed to do in the relationship and what not. We should love each other for who we are and not pretend to be something else.

Now that all of the songs have been translated, we will put them together and prepare the section for them and for all the other translations from other albums. This should be up during the weekend!

Original lyrics:

Tu ne pourras rien me cacher

Ne cherche jamais à me plaire
Je ne chanterai pas ton Te Deum
Mais ne fais jamais semblant de faire
Si tu es un homme
Tu pourras vouloir me quitter
Et à défaut d’un erratum
Tu auras le droit de te tromper
Si tu es un homme

Si tu es un homme
Tu ne prendras rien pour acquis
Si tu es un homme
Je te donnerai toute ma vie
Et tu aimeras ce que nous sommes
Et la femme que je suis

English translation by RMJ:

You can’t hide anything from me
I don’t need to be a psychic
But always tell the truth
If you are a man
I’m not taking care of you
Don’t take me as a cure
But don’t be afraid to be hurt
If you are a man

If you are a man
Don’t take anything for granted
If you are a man
I’ll give you my entire life
And you will love who we are
And the woman who I am

Don’t beat around the bush
I don’t lead to Rome
But don’t be afraid to go too far
If you are a man
Don’t try to impress me
I will pass the etiquette
But don’t be afraid to cry
If you are a man

If you are a man
Don’t take anything for granted
If you are a man
I’ll give you my entire life
And you will love who we are
And the woman who I am

Never try to please me
I will not dance to your beat
But never pretend to be something
If you are a man
You can wish me to leave
And in the absence of an erratum
You’ll have the right to deceive yourself
If you are a man

If you are a man
Don’t take anything for granted
If you are a man
I’ll give you my entire life
And you will love who we are
And the woman who I am

Here’s the English translation of the eight song on Alizée‘s new album 5. It’s about the cruel fight between the girls fighting over guys. But no matter how bloody it gets, everything is fine again when both gives up the guy…

Original lyrics:

English translation by RMJ:

Between the girls, it kills,
It’s settled with the guns.
And it sure does the bang bang…
Between the girls, it falters.
And that’s the law of the jungle.
Voodoo dolls, needle sticks.
Between the girls, it’s crazy!
It’s the battle of nerves, it degenerates.

It’s the battle of the ladies.
The battle on laces but
It’s a battle anyways.
It’s a battle beteen skirts
Between girlfriends, it’s a cat fight.
All for what? All for a boy!

Between the girls, it sways.
It uppercuts, it chokes.
It plays the battle of the gangs.
Between the girls, ringing the gong
In the ring, it goes ding dong.
It’s boxing, not ping pong.
Between the girls, it rumbles.
It’s the battle of nerves, it degenerates.

It’s the battle of the ladies.
The battle on laces but
It’s a battle anyways.
It’s a battle beteen skirts
Between girlfriends, it’s a cat fight.
All for what? All for a boy!

Suddenly, at the door, rings the bell
In your peephole, a jovial friend
In your arms, falls a blond
She dumbed her king kong
Here your bitterness succumbs.
End of the battle… the slaughter.
It disarms the bombs.
End of the battle of the nerves, we’ll recover.

We reconcile behind the back of a boy.

English translation of “Jeune fille”

on by
RMJ

The next song in the series of English translations by RMJ is “Jeune fille”, on which Alizée sings about a careless young girl who doesn’t want to worry too much about the future and don’t want to think about getting older. She wants to live in the moment, worry only about the things that matters for her at the moment.

Original lyrics:

Tu m’dis qu’le monde
Est à refaire
Avec ta chemise à défaire
Que certains n’ont pas de toit
Et toi, veux-tu de moi ?

Tu m’dis que si ça continue
Notre espèce aura disparu
Mais je ne t’écoute pas

Alors si j’étais toi
Je chanterais lalala
Si tu savais
Tu chanterais yéyéyé
Yéyéyé !

Tu m’dis que le plus important
C’est d’être beau en dedans
Comme toi en dehors
Qui parle aux vieux
Comme à des morts

J’n'ai pas d’idée sur la question
Pas d’avis
Pas d’opinion
Mais je sais ce que je veux

Alors si j’étais toi
Je chanterais lalala
Si tu savais
Tu chanterais yéyéyé
Yéyéyé !

Jeune fille
J’ai pas le temps
Jeune fille
Tout est devant
Jeune fille
Dans le décor
Jeune fille
J’oublie la mort
Jeune fille
Le regard des autres
Jeune fille
C’est pas de ma faute
Jeune fille
J’ai pas le temps

Alors si j’étais toi
Je chanterais lalala
Si tu savais
Tu chanterais yéyéyé
Yéyéyé !

English translation by RMJ:

You told me that the world
Has to be redone
With your shirt undone
That some don’t have a roof
And you, do you want me ?

You told me that if this continues
Our species will disappear
But I did not listen to you

So, if I were you
I’d sing lalala
If only you knew
You’d sing yeyeye
Yeyeye!

You told me that the most important
Is to be beautiful inside
Like yourself on the outside
Who talks about the elderly
Like the dead ones

I have no idea about the matter
No comments
No opinion
But I know what I want

So, if I were you
I’d sing lalala
If only you knew
You’d sing yeyeye
Yeyeye!

Young girl
I don’t have the time
Young girl
Everything is ahead
Young girl
In the background
Young girl
I forget the death
Young girl
A different view
Young girl
It’s not my fault
Young girl
I dont’ have the time

So, if I were you
I’d sing lalala
If only you knew
You’d sing yeyeye
Yeyeye!

English translation of “Boxing club”

on by
RMJ

With “Boxing club” Alizée keeps going with the more mature style of the album. The song talks a lady killer, who is so skilled dancer and suave talker that he is simply irresistible in the eyes of the girls, which can lead to only one thing…

Original lyrics:

On dit que j’me laisse aller,
J’me laisse aller à jouer les boxeurs

Hier m’a volé

English translation by RMJ:

In the hyper upscale club
I crash into one of those lady killers
Who turns upside down all the morals
Of elegant ladies

“Let’s dance”, how to answer, an uppercut
Touched right in the heart
Fast like a wind we started

And the stars parade
Yet not so fragiles
But his straightforwardness and his spins
Inflamed I was very quick to lay down

They say that I let myself go
Let myself to play with the boxers
That in due time I’m going to regret

But on the edge of winning
I go on tiptoe
To save the honor
That the gentle boxer
Stole from me yesterday

His footwork and style
Straighten my curls
Oh, his straightforwardness and his spins
I was so quick to lay down
How to resist

I wake up when comes the ring
Rung for the time of a swivel
Between a “chick” and two spins
The lightweighted was overshadowed

For all these years I kept you
Deep in my heart
Like a bad flower
Who did not fade

But I, I would have loved
That he had crashed
Into my mocking eyes
That his squabbling
He would never get over it

English translation of “Le dernier souffle”

on by
RMJ

“Le dernier souffle” (“The last breath”) is the fifth track from Alizée‘s new album 5. Like the title suggest, it literally tells a story of the last moment of person’s life, how there is still someone to love one, even if things didn’t go perfectly in life. We must be able to forgive things we have done wrong, even if it’s at the last moment possible.

Original lyrics:

Et même si tu m’as trahie
Je resterai à tes côtés
A t’écouter gémir

A t’écouter frémir

Bal la la la la
Avant que je déballe
Bal la la la la
Ce que j’ai sur le cœur
Je nous évite les pleurs
D’une balle dans le cœur
Avant que je déballe
Ce que j’ai sur le cœur
Je nous évite les pleurs
D’une balle dans le cœur

Et si tu l’aimes comme c’est écrit
Je t’envoie seul au paradis
Et si tu l’aimes comme c’est joli
Je t’envoie seul au paradis
La nuit retrouvera son calme
Avec son petit cœur qui s’emballe

Bal la la la la
Avant que je déballe
Bal la la la la
Ce que j’ai sur le cœur
Je nous évite les pleurs
D’une balle dans le cœur
Avant que je déballe
Ce que j’ai sur le cœur
Je nous évite les pleurs
D’une balle dans le cœur

English translation by RMJ:

The last breath of your life, huh huh
Will be in my company
Like I promised you, huh huh
And even if you let me down
I will stay by your side
To listen to your moaning

Bal la la la la
Before I tell all
Bal la la la la
What I have on my heart
I save us from the cry
Of a shot in the heart
Before I tell all
What I have on my heart
I save us from the cry
Of a shot in the heart

The last breath of your life, huh huh
Once the crime has been done
The words will disarm, huh huh
I know to forgive
To lie down by your side
To listen to your shivering

Bal la la la la
Before I tell all
Bal la la la la
What I have on my heart
I save us from the cry
Of a shot in the heart
Before I tell all
What I have on my heart
I save us from the cry
Of a shot in the heart

And if you like how it’s written
I’ll send you one to the heaven
And if you like how beautiful it is
I’ll send you one to the heaven
The night calms down again
With his little heart racing

Bal la la la la
Before I tell all
Bal la la la la
What I have on my heart
I save us from the cry
Of a shot in the heart
Before I tell all
What I have on my heart
I save us from the cry
Of a shot in the heart

Mondial du tatouage 2013 revisited (with HD 1080p video)

on by
RMJ
Mondial du tattouage

This year, Alizée took part of a big yearly tattoo meeting, where she was a guest of Tin-Tin and part of the jury of tattoo contest. “Mondial du tatouage 2013″ was held at Le 104 (Centquatre) event hall in Paris, near by Basin de la Villette in 19th arrondissement. It last the whole weekend, from 22nd to 24th of March, but Alizée participated only on the last day when the “best of the show” was selected. Our loyal partner, RMJ Photography was there as a press presentative (and as a huge fan of Alizée!).

Alizée sat in the jury roughly an hour judging a bit over 20 different tattoos, from which three winners were chosen. At the end of the selection, she had the honour to give away the prices for the three winners. In the jury was also Alizée’s old friend, and one of her tattooers, Tin-Tin himself, who did invite Alizée for the show about one year earlier. Tin-Tin Tatouages also had a booth in the event hall, where you could meet Issa, another tattooer of Alizée, who created the “Arale” tattoo, for example. Of course, many other tattoos were on the display over there. Even Alizée herself visited the booth earlier the day before coming to the stage for the contest.

After the contest was over, Alizée went to backstage for a short moment before leaving the place. Thankfully we were able to catch her and share a moment with her before she left the place.

Other than Alizée, the place was filled with tattoo artists from around the France and also from abroad. Each major artist had their own booth (maybe 70 booths total) and if you made an appointment in advance, you could have get yourself tattooed during the meeting. Those who got themselves a tattoo, were able to take part of the various categories of the tattoo contests during the three days. Many of the tattoo contestants were also from abroad, including Spain, Italy and Germany at least. Obviously the place had a small boutique also, where you could buy anything you need for your professional needs. Paints, tattoo guns, hygiene products, anything you would need for your own tattoo place. Also to make people to enjoy their stay for the whole day, there were plenty of concerts and other events during the weekend, with some reasonable priced beer and soft drinks, of course. Also you could eat some fast food in various small “restaurants” and kiosks, set up for the event.

Here is short video (about 7 minutes) of the tattoo contest and Alizée giving out prices at the end of it. Sorry for the first couple minutes, the video was very shaky and it has been a bit stabilized but it’s as good as it can be at the moment.
